Welcome to the NHL Team Power Rankings - our weekly ranking of all 30 NHL teams. These rankings are derived from a combination of underlying shot metrics and a team's ability to earn standings points. An attempt is made to correct for luck.

The definitions for each column in the data table below are:

P/GP - standings points earned per game played
ASD% - 5-on-5 shot differential (excluding blocked shots) expressed as a percentage
FLAP - fluctuations from league average performance
RANK - the power rank (out of 100 points) assigned to each team by the LWL staff
PREVIOUS - the power rank from last week

Chicago is going down this year boys!

Still no love for the Leafs... top 10 in scoring, top 6 on the PP, respectable 5 on 5, bottom 6 in GAA and worst in SHG against, all that should add up to a bit more than 28th in your rankings. Just because they lead the league in shots against.

Continue to give credit to New Jersey for playing in quicksand and their 13 OT/SO loses and your rankings are nothing more than amusing in a clown at the circus kinda of way.
